What is the Pomodoro Technique?
Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique uses a timer to break work into 25-minute focused intervals separated by short breaks. Each interval is called a "pomodoro" — Italian for tomato.
Frequent breaks reduce mental fatigue and maintain consistent output throughout the day. It's widely used by developers, writers, students, and creators worldwide.
